Storm 2014

STORM ensures that an amazing transformation is about to emerge in the world of dance!  This unpredictable tour de force brings power and intensity to the stage.  It allows audiences to connect on an emotional level in a powerful environment.  It tells a story, a personal one.  Perhaps one that each of us has within.  It begins with the Earth section, flows to Wind, erupts into Fire, then concludes with Water.  Each act represents another step in the tumultuous journey of the lead female character.  From the moment you enter the theatre, you’ll be thrust into the world of STORM.  Not only will audiences connect with performers emotionally, but they will experience the elements first hand from the gusts of wind to the fury of a raging fire.  As the conclusion nears, the atmosphere changes, the hurdles are extinguished, and perception unfolds.  The fluidity of the finale takes the house by surprise.  “Life is not about waiting for the STORM to pass…it’s learning to dance in the rain.”  And dance in the rain, they do. Christi Janney, Director/Choreographer, is thrilled to present an encore presentation of STORM!  “STORM was so well recognized in 2012,” professed Janney, “and this one will be even better!”  Excerpts of STORM were recently performed at the Cultural Arts Center at Montgomery College as part of the ‘Choose Respect’ conference in February 2014. This conference was held on behalf of the Montgomery County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council and Eclipse was extremely proud to participate.  Eclipse Performing Dance Company members travel from Cecil, Harford, Baltimore and surrounding counties, and from as far away as Delaware, Washington, DC, and Virginia.  These dedicated dancers are extremely talented individuals with many years of training and experience, in addition to high caliber performance and/or teaching credentials.  They have perceived Christi Janney’s vision and passion as their own, and their execution of material is impeccable. Beware, the STORM approaches…
